Joining CPACT gave us instant connections to thought leaders and major
users of Process Analytical Technologies and those connections have been
instrumental in our growth in, and understanding of, the process industries.
The ability to get involved in research projects, commission our own
research, and collaborate with other centres of excellence in Strathclyde, has
proved enormously useful.
Dan Wood, CEO Keit Spectrometers
Based near Oxford, England, Keit provides a compact and rugged FTIR
spectrometer for in-line process monitoring of industrial processes with
liquids and slurries. The vibration-resistant FTIR spectrometer can be mounted
directly onto manufacturing vessels or process pipework for real-time and continuous
process monitoring in the harshest of manufacturing environments,
including Hazardous Areas
(Ex-certified). The absence of moving parts and consumables delivers a highly
reliable, stable instrument, giving very high up-times.
The instrument was originally developed for the space program based on a
novel optical design making it inherently smaller, lighter and more rugged than
existing state of the art – able to function in harsh industrial environments,
which is the opposite of the standard FTIR equipment. Keit Spectrometer’s goal
is to help people make decisions on the production floor through better process
monitoring technology -- for better yields and process optimization in the
Chemical, Pharmaceutical, Bio-renewable, Oil & Gas, Pulp & Paper and
Food & Beverage industries.
