CPACT Webinar on
CIPSense: in-line
multi-parameter impedance sensing for clean-in-place and product pushout
monitoring
Will Barrett, 4T2 Sensors
17th November
at 3pm (UK time)
Most CIP cycles still run to fixed times, with margins set
for worst-case conditions. As a result, most cleans run longer than necessary,
while process variation can still leave cleaning chemistry in the line.
Standard conductivity probes struggle to judge either reliably, partly because
entrained air distorts the reading.
CIPSense, developed by 4T2 Sensors and licensed to Ecolab
for food and beverage, uses a patented narrow-band RF impedance sensor that
combines conductivity and permittivity, compensated for temperature, into a
single signal. Sensors at the inlet and return confirm when a rinse is actually
complete, and the same measurement can detect the product-to-solvent or
product-to-product interface during pushout.
Will Barrett will explain the measurement principle and
share results from a beverage site, where rinse times fell by more than 50%
over 70 cycles. He will then discuss what it would take to apply the approach
in pharmaceutical and personal care manufacturing, and would welcome
conversations with end users interested in a feasibility study or trial.

This webinar will take no longer than one hour.
The webinar is for CPACT members only and is free to attend.
