Near-infrared (NIR) spectroscopy is the most used process analytical technology (PAT) in manufacturing solid dose pharmaceutical products. NIR PAT has been adopted by the pharmaceutical industry owing to its fast measurement time, broad sensitivity to organic molecules, and non-destructive nature.
This course will introduce attendees to the fundamentals of NIR spectroscopy. The course will describe common NIR PAT applications within the pharmaceutical industry and implementation considerations therein. Additionally, the course will present an introduction to the fundamentals of NIR spectroscopy with a focus on considerations when analyzing mixtures of solids. Sampling theory, pharmaceutical application, and regulatory considerations will also be discussed at length. Lastly, some hands-on use of Sentronic NIR PAT systems shall be provided.
