Webinar on
Norwegian open infrastructure for high-throughput
experimentation and scale-up (NorHTE)
Bjørn
Grung, University of Bergen
9th October at 3pm (UK time)
Recently the Norwegian Research Council
published a call for research infrastructure. The University of Bergen (UiB) and
the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) submitted an
application for high-throughput experimentation (HTE) and scale-up. Of 161
applications, 20 received funding.
The process of setting up the labs has
started. NorHTE expands on the HTE setup already in place in Bergen. This
presentation will give a brief introduction to the concept of HTE, before
focusing on the visions for NorHTE undertake. The main areas of interest are organic
and organometallic synthesis, medicinal chemistry, materials synthesis, and
catalysis. Focus will be on in-line monitoring, real-time chemometrics, and
machine-learning methods to shorten times-to-solution during
discovery/optimisation, and providing quality assurance for manufacturing.
While HTE facilities is common is certain
industries and even at universities in select countries, Norway has until now
had no available facilities open to users. Openness is an essential quality of
NorHTE, and both academic and industrial users are welcomed. While the
infrastructure is hosted by UiB and NTNU, the facility will be open to users
irrespective of affiliation, and with user fees that distinguish only between
academic and commercial researchers.
This webinar will last no longer than one
hour.
