The EPSRC Process Industries Net Zero (PINZ) Centre for
Doctoral Training (CDT) is a collaborative initiative between Newcastle
University’s Process Intensification Group and the University of York’s Centre
for Green Chemistry. Together, these leading research centres provide a unique
interdisciplinary platform to train the next generation of innovators in the
process industries. The CDT focuses on three key themes critical to industrial
decarbonisation: Feedstock (including bio-based and circular materials),
Energy (covering low-carbon fuels, electrification, and efficiency), and
Digital (applying data, modelling, and automation to enable smarter,
cleaner processes).
With strong industrial partnerships at its core, the
programme aligns doctoral research with real-world challenges and offers
businesses early access to innovation, a skilled talent pipeline, and the
opportunity to co-create impactful solutions that accelerate the transition to
net zero.
In this talk, the director of PINZ, Prof Adam Harvey
(Newcastle University), will explain the ideas behind the centre, illustrated
via some of the current collaborative projects, and how you can engage with the
centre.
This webinar will last no longer than one hour.
