Process Analytical Technology (PAT) constitutes the primary means by which the pharmaceutical industry designs, controls and monitors critical process parameters that determine critical quality attributes.  Desirable features of PAT monitoring instrumentation include the ability to make rapid non-destructive measurements in- or on-line and currently near infrared spectroscopy is one of the most popular PAT tools.  This webinar describes a new, patented spectroscopic method ideally suited for PAT known as Absorbance-Transmittance fluorescence Excitation-Emission (A-TEEM) spectroscopy.  A-TEEM spectroscopy focused on fluorescence exhibits extremely high molecular sensitivity and specificity.  The method is designed to meet USP chapter specifications for both absorbance and fluorescence and is certified with traceable reference materials.  The A-TEEM instrumentation is amenable to rapid at-line and, as discussed, potentially in-line/on-line data acquisition and analysis.  Key pharma applications to be highlighted include bio-reactor cell media characterization and monitoring as well as vaccine packaging qualification.  Other life-science applications examples include cannabinoid quantification and evaluating dietary supplement adulteration.
