Research
activity in CPACT is organised under four Themes that put emphasis
on manufacturing processes where advances in process analysis and
control will have significant benefits. There are also projects that
go across Themes, as the technology involved is applicable in a variety
of manufacturing plants and processes.

Description
Monitoring
of Chemical Processes
Robust
Methods for Monitoring and Control of Solid Processes
Provide
on-line monitoring and control capabilities using a variety of
process analytical techniques.
Develop
process models to allow accurate end-point detection, optimisation
and control, and prediction of the influence of scale-up.
Establish
relationships between on-line analytical measurements, process
operating parameters, and the characteristics of finished products.
