Research
activity in CPACT is organised under four Themes that put emphasis
on manufacturing processes where advances in process analysis and
control will have significant benefits. There are also projects that
go across Themes, as the technology involved is applicable in a variety
of manufacturing plants and processes.
The
Themes
Description
Monitoring
of Chemical Processes
Robust
Methods for Monitoring and Control of Solid Processes
Methodologies
for Process Modelling, Optimisation and Model Portability
Real-time
Monitoring and Control of Bioprocesses
Investigate
current and emerging measurement technologies for the monitoring
and characterisation of fermentation and bioprocesses and identify
promising technologies.
Development
of multivariate empirical and hybrid models which predict and
monitor the performance of fermentations and bioprocesses.
Deliver
an integrated package of signal processing and data evaluation
tools that can be used within an intelligent optimisation and
control system.
